PHEWSH sits at the intersection of several research threads: cognitive continuity — how project state travels across sessions and tools, intent formalism — whether AI-assisted work improves when intent is captured as structured artifacts before execution, and cross-provider interoperability — whether a portable intent layer can survive infrastructure churn. The question we're exploring: if a single portable intent spec can speak every tool's native language, does friction really vanish?
